Welcome to The Healthy Place, where everybody is somebody special! The Healthy Place was founded by Kevin L. Jones, a Licensed Professional Counselor, several years ago. He is a native Washingtonian. As he grew up in the District of Columbia (“D.C.”) and completed his undergraduate and graduate studies, his desire had long been to work with members of the community. He has counseled youth and adults in D.C. for more than 25 years. Mr. Jones is more than a counselor in an office. He is a pillar of the community. He is a teacher, philanthropist, and community volunteer. He knows the positive benefits of sports, so for several years, he coached football (one season was undefeated and unscored on!): improving mood and concentration, reducing stress and depression, improving sleep habits, maintaining a healthy weight, and boosting self-confidence and leadership traits. Today, The Healthy Place has a dozen licensed professionals utilizing the methods that were established. Jones's success record in D.C. They emphasize prevention and work with individuals and groups to promote optimal mental health.

Purpose
Provide a diverse, comprehensive, and accessible array of quality mental health services. Respond to the mental health needs and desires of families inD.C. communities. Identify trends and service needs and to promote prevention, outreach, education, referrals, advocacy, and effective service delivery. Build healthier families through collaboration with the community.

We are a premium mental health agency in D.C. We provide clients with the highest quality, most accessible, and cost-effective services. Our exceptional services extend to all populations regardless of race, social stigmas, or financial barriers. We strive to ensure that each of our clients can manage their illness, achieve their personal goals, and live, work and participate in their community. We will always continue to maintain an enviable internal culture and environment that encourages and supports our efforts.

  • YOUTH INDIVIDUAL COUNSELING

    We have counseled more than 100young people in the District. TheHealthy Place’s services have helped youth become connected with their families and communities. We begin with an assessment of their physiological needs, then address their safety needs, help them establish a sense of belonging, work with them to develop esteem, and ultimately achieve self-actualization



     

  • Adults Counseling

    We counsel with emphasis on prevention. Our counselors work with individuals and groups to promote optimum mental health. Counseling may help individuals deal with addictions and substance abuse, and improve family communication and mental and emotional health. Your specific treatment plan will depend on your individual circumstances

     

  • YOUTH and FAMILY COUNSELING

    We have helped many families. The Healthy Place conducts an in-depth assessment. Based on the analysis, our counselors can identify problematic dynamics, such as miscommunication. We examine the entire environment to recommend where the family can thrive. Our services educate families about its members’ needs and a better way to communicate. Our goal is to help each family member gain a sense of security and belonging.

     

  • Services provided to residents include housing assistance, employment assistance, rehabilitation services, crisis and emergency services
